Apex Trader Funding and Tradeify Trade Copier: Run Both Firms Simultaneously
Step-by-step guide to setting up a trade copier for Apex Trader Funding and Tradeify accounts at the same time. Covers broker selection, cross-broker setup on SyncFutures, and what to watch out for.

Many traders run Apex Trader Funding and Tradeify accounts at the same time. Both are popular prop firms, both have well-structured evaluation paths, and both support accounts on Tradovate or Rithmic — which means they can work together in a trade copier setup, even if your Apex account is on a different broker than your Tradeify account.
This guide walks through how to set up SyncFutures for an Apex + Tradeify combination, what broker options you're working with, and a few things worth knowing before you go live.
Why traders combine Apex Trader Funding and Tradeify
Running two firms at once lets you pass more evaluation windows in the same trading week without changing your strategy. You trade once on a master account; the copy rule replicates every fill to your slave accounts at whatever size multiplier you've set.
The alternative — manually placing the same trade across two firms — means timing differences between entries, different fills, and a lot of extra clicking during fast-moving sessions. A copier handles the replication automatically so the only variable between accounts is the account size.
Which brokers each firm uses
Before you connect anything, it helps to know which broker platform backs your specific accounts.
Apex Trader Funding supports three broker platforms: Tradovate, Rithmic, and WealthCharts. You select (and lock into) a platform when you purchase your account. SyncFutures supports Tradovate and Rithmic connections — WealthCharts is a standalone Apex-specific platform that SyncFutures does not currently connect to.
Tradeify supports Tradovate, Rithmic, and WealthCharts as platform options at checkout. The same caveat applies: SyncFutures connects Tradovate and Rithmic, not WealthCharts.
| Firm | Supported platforms | SyncFutures connects |
|---|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding | Tradovate, Rithmic, WealthCharts | Tradovate, Rithmic |
| Tradeify | Tradovate, Rithmic, WealthCharts | Tradovate, Rithmic |
If either of your accounts is on WealthCharts, you won't be able to connect it to SyncFutures. If both are on Tradovate or Rithmic (any combination), you're good.
Cross-broker vs. same-broker scenario
If your Apex account is on Tradovate and your Tradeify account is on Rithmic — or vice versa — that's a cross-broker setup. SyncFutures was built for exactly this: a fill on the master copies across to slave accounts on a different broker backend.
If both accounts happen to be on the same broker, the setup is straightforward too — one connection covers both.
Setting up SyncFutures for Apex + Tradeify
Step 1: Connect your Apex account
- Go to Accounts Management in SyncFutures and click Add Broker Connection.
- Select either Tradovate or Rithmic, depending on which platform your Apex account uses.
- Tradovate: Authorize via OAuth2 — you'll be redirected to Tradovate to authorize, then select Demo (Apex Performance Accounts run on Tradovate Demo).
- Rithmic: Enter your Rithmic username, password, and the system name for Apex (Apex's Rithmic system name is available in your Apex dashboard under the Rithmic agreement section — you need to sign the Rithmic user agreement before connections will work).
- Once connected, your Apex accounts appear in the account list. Assign one as the master or as a slave depending on your setup.
Step 2: Connect your Tradeify account
- Click Add Broker Connection again.
- Select the platform your Tradeify account uses (Tradovate or Rithmic).
- Tradovate: Authorize via OAuth2, then select Demo — Tradeify Growth, Select, and Lightning accounts all run on simulated environments.
- Rithmic: Enter your Rithmic credentials and the system name for Tradeify's Rithmic deployment (visible in your Tradeify dashboard).
- Your Tradeify accounts appear in the account list.
Step 3: Create a copy rule
- Navigate to Copier Rules and click New Copier Rule.
- Select your master account — typically the account you actively trade from, whether that's a live/brokerage account or one of your funded accounts.
- Add your Apex and Tradeify accounts as slave accounts.
- Set a contract symbol (e.g.,
ESZ6for the December E-mini S&P 500 contract on Tradovate — note the single-digit year format). - Save and activate the rule.
Step 4: Set quantity multipliers (optional)
Each slave account can have its own size multiplier (0.1x to 100x). If your master account is larger than your evaluation accounts, set a multiplier below 1x to scale the copied size down proportionally. You configure this per slave within the rule.
Account environments: what's live and what's simulated
This matters for the copier setup, particularly if you're copying from a live brokerage account to funded evaluation accounts.
Apex: Performance Accounts (PAs) run on simulated (Demo) environments — fills are simulated, not real exchange fills. Apex does have an invite-only Live Funded Account (LFA) tier for traders with a strong payout history, but most Apex accounts are on Demo. If you're unsure, check your Apex dashboard.
Tradeify: Growth, Select, and Lightning accounts all run on simulated environments (Demo). The Elite tier is a live-capital account. Tradeify publishes payout thresholds for consideration — three payouts on a single account, or ten across all accounts — but states these are minimums for consideration rather than automatic qualification, and the offer is made at Tradeify's discretion. If you're selected, the move is mandatory: all sim funded and evaluation accounts are closed, and only funded accounts with at least one payout convert to Elite Live — so expect your copier's slave accounts to change when it happens. Check your Tradeify dashboard to confirm which environment your account is on.
If you're copying from a live account to Demo evaluation accounts, your master fills are real while the slave fills are simulated — that's expected behavior and not a SyncFutures limitation.
Policies: confirm with each firm before you go live
Copy trading policies can change, and both firms set their own rules about what third-party tools are permitted. Before running a copier across your accounts, verify each firm's current terms:
- Apex Trader Funding: Review their rules and FAQ for their current position on copy trading with third-party tools. Apex's policy has generally permitted copying your own accounts, but confirm this before you start and after any policy updates.
- Tradeify: Check their help center for the current policy on using external copy trading software with your accounts.
SyncFutures does not enforce any firm's drawdown rules or account limits automatically. Daily and weekly loss limits in SyncFutures are informational journal goals — they surface in the dashboard as a reference, but nothing is auto-closed or auto-suspended based on them. Compliance with each firm's rules is your responsibility.
FAQ
Can I copy between Apex on Tradovate and Tradeify on Rithmic?
Yes. SyncFutures supports cross-broker copy trading — your master and slave accounts can be on different broker connections. A fill on the master copies to all active slave accounts regardless of which broker backs each one.
Which SyncFutures plan do I need?
It depends on how many broker connections you're adding. The Starter plan ($39/mo) includes 3 connections — enough for most two-firm setups if you're adding one Tradovate and one Rithmic connection. If you have more accounts across more brokers, the Professional (5 connections, $89/mo) or Ultimate (unlimited connections, $129/mo) may fit better. All plans include the same features; only the connection count differs. See syncfutures.com/pricing for the full breakdown.
Does SyncFutures enforce prop firm drawdown rules?
No. SyncFutures does not auto-flatten your positions when you hit a loss limit, and it does not suspend or disconnect accounts automatically. The informational loss limits in SyncFutures are journal-level tracking only — useful for self-monitoring, not enforcement. You're responsible for following each firm's rules manually.
What if my accounts don't appear after connecting?
For Tradovate and NinjaTrader connections, the most common cause is the environment selector being set to the wrong option. If your funded account is on Demo but you connected with Live selected, no accounts will appear. Go back to the connection and switch the environment selector to the other option.
For Rithmic, double-check your system name. If it's set to the wrong firm, the connection will fail or show no accounts.
